Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who else can see it, and how to get it deleted. In plain English, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.
1. Who we are
Oddysian ("we", "us") designs and builds websites and improves local search visibility for small businesses in Southern California. Oddysian is a trade name of SP&P Group Inc., a California corporation, operating from La Verne, California.
This policy covers oddysian.com and the support system at oddysian.com/support. It does not cover websites we build for our clients — those sites are controlled by the client, who publishes their own policy.
2. What we collect
Only what you type into our contact form or send us by email, plus the technical records our hosting provider keeps automatically. There is no account to create and nothing to log into.
If you use the contact form
- Your name, business name and email address
- Your current website address, if you give one
- What you need, and any details you write
If you email us for support
- Your email address, and your name if your email includes it
- Whatever you write in the message, and anything you attach
- The date and time of the message, as any email carries
Automatically, through hosting
This site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data in order to serve pages and block attacks — including your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We do not use this data to build a profile of you, and we do not receive it as a usable report.
In your browser
We store one item on your device: a sessionStorage flag that records you have already seen the site's opening animation, so it does not replay on every page. It contains no personal information, is not a cookie, is never transmitted to us, and is erased when you close the tab.
3. What we deliberately do not do
These are factual statements about how this site is built, not aspirations:
- No advertising or tracking analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no advertising network and no script that follows you across websites.
- No tracking cookies. This site sets no cookies for visitors, which is why you were not shown a cookie banner. The only cookie is a strictly necessary sign-in cookie for a password-protected internal tool used by Oddysian staff; it is never set for public visitors.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Because nothing on this site tracks visitors, every visitor is treated the same way whether or not their browser sends these signals.
- We never sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- No marketing email unless you ask for it. Submitting a form does not add you to a list.
If any of this changes, this section changes first.
4. Why we collect it
- To reply to you. Your email address exists in our records so we can answer.
- To do the work you hired us for, where you are a client.
- To keep records of what was asked and what was delivered.
5. Who else can see it
We use a small number of service providers. They process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting and network security. Data is stored in Cloudflare's infrastructure.
- Resend — delivers contact form notification emails.
- Google Workspace — our own business email, where your message arrives and is stored.
- Stripe — billing records for clients.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
6. How long we keep it
- Support emails: kept in our Google Workspace inbox for 3 years from the last message.
- Enquiries that did not become work: 24 months.
- Client and billing records: kept as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes.
You can ask us to delete sooner — see below.
7. Your rights
Whatever your location, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Give you a copy of it
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, where we are not required to keep it
Email oddysian@oddysian.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
8. Data belonging to our clients
When we build or maintain a website, we often handle information that belongs to our client rather than to us — enquiries submitted through their forms, their customer records, and access to their accounts.
In that situation the client decides what happens to that information and we act on their instructions. If you are a customer of one of our clients and want your information removed, contact that business directly; they control it.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Internal tools are password protected and blocked from search engines.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information sent over the internet is safe from interception. Please do not send passwords, card numbers or government identification numbers through our forms — if we need something sensitive, we will arrange a secure way to send it.
10. Children
This site is for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle information already collected, we will make reasonable efforts to tell affected people directly.
